🆘 Democracy is not a guarantee. It’s a fight. I grew up in a dictatorship. That kind of experience never really leaves you. It seeps into your bones, shapes the way you see the world, and teaches you lessons that no one should ever have to learn. Lessons about silence. About fear. About the weight of unspoken words and the careful dance of self-censorship. Trauma in that kind of environment isn’t always loud. It’s not just about the obvious horrors—the arrests, the disappearances, the public punishments. It’s also about the slow erosion of trust, the way people learn to shrink themselves, the way resistance turns into survival. You learn young that laws can change overnight, that your rights are only as strong as the people willing to defend them, and that freedom isn’t something you can take for granted. And I’m watching history repeat itself in so-called democracies—laws stripping away rights, leaders normalizing control, people thinking “this could never happen here.” 🚨 It CAN happen. It IS happening. 🗣️ We must speak up NOW. Every time a right is taken from one group, it’s a test to see how far they can go. Silence is complicity. Tomy was born a woman, but he never felt like one, not even as a little kid. At the age of 30 Tomy decided to transition. I’ve been photographing him since he told me he is no longer a woman and he will start his transition. This was our 3rd photo session. After he fully recovered from his torso plasty. I like how the morning light has created a spotlight with Tomy in the middle, showing a posture and very masculin body while, behind him his shadow show a more curvy figure with feminine appearance, like the woman hi is letting behind. The most interesting thing about this photo session, he was confident enough to be naked in front of the camera only wearing his jockstrap. Les réseaux sociaux (79%) et la télévision (84%) accentuent également ce malaise. Nous devons arrêter de nous gâcher la vie à cause de la stigmatisation des formes naturelles et la diversité corporelle et mètre fin au bodyshaming permanent auquel nous sommes soumises. Depuis que j'ai commencé ma carrière de photographe, il y a plus de dix ans, je voulais raconter des histoires et faire de mon art un instrument porteur de sens.
