Born in Moscow in 1982 to Cuban parents, were I spent the first two years of my existence before moving to Cuba with my mother. From an early age, different cultures and languages shaped the path of my life. This has determined my photography style.

For every photographer, light is the first muse that inspires us to creation. The different ways in which light touches an object, a person or an ordinary moment may be invisible to others, but are interesting to my eyes. The hidden stories waiting to be revealed inspire me. The camera is simply my tool for unveiling them.

Growing up in a communist dictatorship leaves no room for freedom of expression or travel abroad, but plenty of room for a burning desire to explore and expose the harsh reality. Emigrating to Germany showed me a different world; a form of freedom I had only heard about. Photography now turned into a means of personal expression that I had not explored before.
Having a rebellious nature, I began to break the rules of photographic composition and created, developed and refined my current style: the art of storytelling through adventure photography, crossing the boundaries between documentary, fine art and photojournalism.

The most ordinary things, which we rarely think about or which may even appear boring at first glance, come alive and become interesting, captured through my lens. I create my portraits with the intention to intrigue and provoke viewers by offering them an intimate view of the people and places I have a connection with, inviting them to observe my characters interacting in their natural surroundings, creating close bonds and emotional states.

Lines, shapes, light and shadow, tonalities and composition are primary subjects within my approach, bringing dynamics and drama and pushing creative boundaries. My images are full of deep stories; sometimes mysterious, sometimes surreal, but mostly personal, and they invite the viewers to immerse themselves and enjoy the mysterious complexity of the world through seductive compositions that evoke feelings of enjoyment and wonder.
